What the site is

watts & time reads cycling ride files and tells you what they measured, why two rides differ, and how long a route will take. It is offered as it is, free of charge, and it may change or go away at any time.

The figures are estimates

Every number the site shows is either measured from your file or modelled from it, and the page says which and how sure it is. A model is not a measurement. The site is a tool for understanding your own riding; it is not advice on training, health, equipment or racing, and you use its figures at your own risk. Nothing here is warranted to be accurate, complete or fit for any purpose.

Your rides are yours

Your ride files never leave your browser. What the site does with the decoded numbers is set out on the privacy page, which is part of these terms. Nothing you give the site becomes ours.

When you save an answer behind a link, you are publishing it: anyone with the link can read it and pass it on. Save only what you have the right to publish, and keep the removal key, because nobody else can take the page down for you.

The site is ours

The site, its code, its model and its writing are proprietary and all rights are reserved. You may use the site as it is offered. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or reproduce the model or the site, run automated traffic against it, or use it to build a competing service. The road data under the maps is from OpenStreetMap contributors and the terrain from open sources, each under its own licence, and the map tiles from the service named under the map.

Ads

The site is paid for by advertising. Ads are served by Google and marked as such. Nothing in an analysis is influenced by them, and no figure from your ride reaches an advertiser; the privacy page says what the ad network may do and when you are asked first.

Acceptable use

• Do not upload files that are not yours to analyse.
• Do not save an answer that identifies someone else without their say.
• Do not try to find saved answers you were not given the link to.
• Do not put the site under load it was not built for.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did, and using the site after a change means accepting it.
